Indian Wells Tennis Garden Levels Up the Player and Fan Experience with Musco’s LED Technology
The Challenge
Since opening in March of 2000, Indian Wells Tennis Garden has established itself as one of the most revered and entertaining venues in professional tennis. Facility leadership recently made efforts toward modernizing this tennis paradise by initiating a lighting project that would bring highly-advanced LED technology to both stadiums and seven additional courts used for larger competitions. Goals for the new lighting were to produce greater light levels that would improve visibility both on the courts and for television broadcasts. Facility leaders were also interested in including the latest special effects technology to enhance the entertainment experience at competitions and events.
The Solution
Project leaders conducted extensive research into the capabilities of various LED sports lighting manufacturers and determined Musco provided the expertise and technology needed to accomplish their lighting goals. They had Musco’s TLC for LED® technology installed at all nine competition courts. The system’s custom optics and light control technology increases light levels and improves uniformity, creating optimal conditions for broadcasts and nighttime play. Musco’s Show-Light+® entertainment package was included at both stadiums and creates cutting-edge light shows with light-to-music synchronization and color-changing RGBW technology to further enhance the one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
