Musco’s TLC for LED® System Resolves Glare Control and Light Level Concerns on Northshore School District Athletic Fields

The Challenge

Northshore School District wanted a high-quality LED lighting system that would enhance safety and visibility on eight athletic fields. They also wanted to protect their neighbors from intrusive glare and light spill, providing a game night experience their student-athletes, fans, and community could be proud of.

The Solution

The school district turned to Musco for a complete LED system upgrade designed around Musco’s Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ technology. The system delivers highly-controlled illumination across each of the district’s two football fields, three baseball diamonds, and three softball diamonds. Patented visor technology protected neighbors by virtually eliminating light spill. As an added environmental consideration, Musco installed an osprey nesting platform above one of the poles on Bothell High School’s baseball field, timing the installation to avoid disrupting the native wildlife. The entire system is covered by a long-term parts and labor warranty that eliminates all maintenance costs and concerns until the year 2033.
