Andalusia High School’s Newly-Renovated Stadium Gains Superior Light Control with LED System
The Challenge
Leaders at Alabama’s Andalusia High School decided to renovate its 90-year-old-facility—originally built to accommodate both football and baseball—into a new stadium solely for football. School leaders wanted to deliver a state-of-the-art facility, and needed an innovative LED lighting system that would prevent glare from affecting facilities to the west and southeast of the field, while also providing the best possible visibility and viewing experience.
The Solution
The school had worked with Musco on previous lighting projects and had established a good relationship with the company. As a result, project leaders turned to Musco’s Total Light Control—TLC for LED™ system. In addition to the patented visoring technology preventing glare and spill from negatively impacting surrounding facilities, the system’s custom optics deliver uniform, consistent light levels on the field for an unforgettable viewing experience.
