ACTIVE Al Maryah Enhances World-Class Island Experience with Musco Lighting Systems

The Challenge

So exhilarating, your breath is taken away. So says the website for Al Maryah Island, a world-class hub for business, shopping, and recreation. As the lifestyle and entertainment district continued to grow and expand on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, the owners of nearby Zayed Sports City envisioned a world-class sports and recreation complex called ACTIVE Al Maryah Island. The owners sought a lighting provider who could work quickly and in coordination with numerous other contractors to achieve their vision for a facility that’s as breathtaking as the island itself.

The Solution

Impressed by the performance and reliability of the lighting at Zayed Sports City, as well as Musco’s long-term parts and labor warranty, the project team chose Musco. Working in coordination with five construction contractors, the Musco team installed TLC for LED® systems at ACTIVE’s outdoor tennis courts, football pitches, and multipurpose courts. They also lit the interior of the ACTIVE Dome, the Middle East’s first air dome to include a full-size indoor football pitch. Dimming capabilities within the dome allow the facilities team to adjust light levels according to the needs of participants including the Man City Football School, a youth program operated by Manchester City F.C. of the English Premier League. The result is a high-performance lighting system at a sports complex that provides world-class recreational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Our project at ACTIVE Al Maryah Island was completed in a limited timeframe and required maximum cooperation with other contractors. Musco met our high expectations to deliver the project as planned, and their after-sales service has been exceptional since then.
